Air Conditioning Filter Types
|
|
 |
Fiberglass Filter
The most common and cheapest type of filter.
They do not filter as fine of a particle as a more expensive filter and
provide the most basic level of protection for your air conditioning unit. |
 |
Pleated Filter
More expensive than fiberglass filters but
they last longer and filter more particles from the air. They can last up
to 3 months because the pleating gives the filter more surface area.
You should still check them monthly however. |
 |
Electrostatic Filter
Electrostatic air filters work by creating an
electrostatic charge which attracts and traps dust and debris. They are
expensive filters but are usually lifetime filters. There are also
disposable electrostatic air filters available. |
 |
Electric Air Filter
These are the most expensive filters and work
like electrostatic filters. Instead of static energy however, hey use an
electric charge to attract dirt and dust.
