Cleaning Your Home The Natural Way

Are you concerned about the harsh chemicals that you have to use in your home to clean. Well, you do not have to use harsh caustic chemicals. Here are a few natural alternatives.

"NOTE: Always test a cleaner in an inconspicuous area. These chemicals can be used to minimize your contact with more dangerous chemicals but nothing should be assumed to be 100% safe."

White Vinegar

Can be used to remove spots and degrease dishes. Add an ounce or two to your dishwater.
Can be diluted with water and used as a deodorizer.
Can be applied to mildew full strength to kill it.
Can be diluted with water and used as a window cleaner. Mix it one part white vinegar to 4 parts water.

Baking Soda

Sprinkle it on pots, pans, sinks or tubs as a scouring agent.
Can be used as a deodorizer by pouring it into a garbage disposal. Let it sit a few minutes and rinse.
Can be sprinkled on carpet and vacuumed up to be deodorized.
Pour baking soda and vinegar into a clogged drain to help clear it. After the clog has cleared, rinse it with boiling water.

Lemon Juice

Apply it to mildew and allow sunlight to interact with it to kill the mildew.
Place lemon peels along with a few ice cubes in your disposal to kill odors. Run the disposal for a few seconds and rinse.
