Shower Mildew Removal

Removing Mildew From Showers

Removing mildew stains from your shower or bath is a rather easy process.

Step 1.
Clean the shower and scrub the grout lines to remove as much of the mildew as possible. Thoroughly rinse your shower or bath to remove all of the cleaner.

Step 2.
Mix up a solution of bleach water. Use 1 part bleach to 3 or 4 parts water. Put the mixture in a spray bottle and spray the mildew stains. You should see the mildew slowly disappear. The process can take several hours to work.
Use caution when working with bleach as the fumes can be dangerous. Be careful not to spill the bleach on carpet or other textiles as it could remove color.

Step 3.
Thoroughly rinse the shower or bath to remove all traces of bleach.
Mildew Prevention

To prevent mildew, keep areas as dry and clean as possible. Mildew needs food and moisture to grow. Clean showers often to remove soap and other sources of food. Leave shower curtains open and bathroom doors open to allow airflow into the room. You want showers and baths to dry as soon as possible.
